SafePin ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address, name, and profile picture when you create an account
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed through our payment provider (Polar). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Content: Blog URLs you submit for analysis, pin titles, descriptions, and source images you upload or select
  • Communications: Support requests, feedback, and beta access requests you send us

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs

2.3 Pinterest Account Data

When you connect your Pinterest account, we receive the following data from Pinterest via the official Pinterest API, with your explicit consent:

  • Identity: Your Pinterest username and user ID
  • Boards: The names and IDs of your boards, so you can select where to publish pins
  • Access Tokens: OAuth access and refresh tokens, encrypted and stored so we can publish pins on your behalf at scheduled times
  • Published Pin IDs: The IDs of pins we publish for you, so you can see their status inside SafePin

We do not read your home feed, your saved pins, your followers, the boards you follow, or any data outside the scopes required to publish on your behalf (pins:read, pins:write, boards:read, user_accounts:read). You can revoke our access at any time from your Pinterest account settings or from the SafePin settings page.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service
  • Process your transactions and manage your account
  • Publish pins to Pinterest on your behalf, at the times you schedule
  • Send service-related communications
  • Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations and platform requirements

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties that help operate our Service (hosting, payments, analytics, email delivery)
  • Pinterest: When you publish pins, the pin content (image, title, description, destination link, board ID) is sent to Pinterest via the official Pinterest API
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate SafePin:

  • Vercel: Application hosting and global content delivery
  • Supabase: Authentication, user database, and image storage
  • Polar: Subscription billing and payment processing
  • Pinterest: The Pinterest API, for publishing pins on your behalf when you have connected your account
  • Firecrawl: Fetches publicly-available content from URLs you submit, so we can extract titles and images for your pins
  • Groq: Large-language-model inference used to generate viral title suggestions and descriptions from your content. Submitted text is not used to train models per Groq's terms.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery (beta access confirmations, account notifications)
  • cron-job.org: Scheduled triggering of our publish endpoint for queued pins

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Encrypted storage of Pinterest access tokens and other secrets
  • Secure authentication via Supabase (OAuth + email/password with hashed credentials)
  • Regular security audits, dependency updates, and infrastructure monitoring
  • Access controls limiting who within SafePin can view user data

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account:

  • Your Pinterest access tokens are revoked and deleted immediately
  • Your account record, scheduled pins, and source images are deleted within 30 days
  • Anonymized usage logs may be retained for up to 12 months for security and analytics
  • Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting regulations

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format
  • Withdraw consent (for example, by disconnecting Pinterest)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with our Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

The Service is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including the use of providers that comply with international data-transfer frameworks.
